Catherine Beare began playing fiddle at the age of 7 and shortly after started attending fiddle classes at Glengormley School of Traditional Music.

She achieved her Diploma in Fiddle from the London College of Music at the age of 15, and Grade 8 Banjo, at the age 14.

 

Catherine has tutored many pupils over the years helping them gain their accreditations from London College of Music and prepared pupils for competitions. 

 

She has competed at many Feis and Fleadh Cheoil competitions, winning medals at Antrim, Ulster and All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil level, in solo and group competitions with Ceoltoiri Crosskeys, playing fiddle, banjo and bouzouki. 

 

Her playing has taken her all over Ireland and to New York, Sicily and France. She has played support for Beoga, Ulaid, the Rapparees, Jim Murray and Seamus Begley, and also performed at the TG4 Gradam Ceoil 2018 Awards.
