Conrad Murphy is our Guitar Tutor

Conrad has been playing guitar for more than 40 years and teaching guitar to adults and children for more than 20 years - in both one to one and classroom settings.

 

He primarily  teaches "standard" guitar for accompaniment to Irish and other folk songs and accompaniment to irish traditional tunes. He also teaches some open tunings for guitar. 

 

His favourite traditional bands/musicians include Bothy Band, Planxty, Christy Moore and Paul Brady

 

In addition to playing regularly at sessions including the Duke of York, Maddens and Crown and Shamrock he has played in a number of traditional and non-traditional music groups. Some of those groups have included fellow musicians from GSoTM. 

 

You may not know that Conrad was one of the founding members of GSoTM alongside Ray, Pat Flanagan and Sean Gillen. He has also featured on each of the 3 GSoTM CDs so far.
