A kind welcome to our class
Jude Scott started out with GSOTM as a student when he was only 6 years old. Jude has now proved himself as a cherished asset to the school and is helping to lead our students, bringing out the best in their musicianship.
After attaining his Grade 8 in tin whistle at 13 years old, Jude became an avid student of the traditional Flute & Uilleann pipes having the privilege of learning from some of our best trad musicians including - Gary Duffy, Aaron O'Hagan, Conor Caldwell, Brendan Mulholland, Barry Kerr, Kevin Crawford, Harry Bradley, Brian Finnegan, Maria Rafferty and many more.
Jude’s grá for traditional Irish music has given him many opportunities to perform. He has enjoyed competing in numerous competitions and fleadhs both as an individual musician and as part of Grúpaí Ceoils.
Over the past number of years Jude has had the opportunity to perform at magnificent venues and festivals including the Gradam Ceol Awards on TG4 and St. Patrick's Day Parade in Philadelphia. He has also supported Flook at the Duncairn in Belfast, Electric Picnic and Belfast Tradfest's Festival Club. Jude also took to the stage as part of Flutopia where he performed alongside Gary Duffy, Mike McGoldrick & Mary Bergin.
Jude continues to collaborate with his peers as a member of the Duncairn’s Trad Irish Music Collective and with his passion for playing and sharing tunes he takes the opportunity to perform and contribute in many seisiúns throughout Belfast in venues such as Maddens, The Morning Star & The Crown & Shamrock to name but a few.
